August 2026
22 August — God and the Gay Christian? — the response, now in Dutch
- God en de homoseksuele christen? — read online: the Dutch translation of God and the Gay Christian? A Response to Matthew Vines (SBTS Press, 2014), in which five theologians examine Matthew Vines’ book: the gospel, the Old and the New Testament, church history, and whether a ‘gay Christian’ squares with the gospel. Typeset as an A5 edition of 59 pages with cover, contents and notes (Dutch only).
- Bible quotations follow the Dutch Open Translation (OV); the translation was made with the help of AI and then reviewed. The original is © SBTS Press — this edition is meant for study and, unlike our own editions, is not free of rights.
12 August — The whole Bible to read
- All 82 Bible books are now fully online: 1,370 chapters, over 37,000 verses and more than 69,000 marginal notes. Until now only Genesis and John could be read.
- The text comes from the openvertaling.nl v0.17 and is therefore more current than what was here before.
- The glossary has been removed from this site. That feature now lives on openvertaling.nl, where it belongs.
- New page (in Dutch): Ben je LHBTQ+?
- The gatherings have been reduced to one group: seekers and young disciples, every two weeks on Friday evening.
12 August — Two editions to read online
- Taurat and Injil — read online: Genesis and John, Dutch and Arabic paragraph by paragraph, 232 pages with a cover.
- The Apostolic Preaching — read online: the writing of Irenaeus from around 180 AD as a typeset edition of 37 pages, with cover and back.
- Both editions can be read on a phone and printed or saved as PDF, exactly as they would be printed: A5, 148 × 210 mm.
- The Taurat edition was made seven times lighter and now opens within seconds instead of after a minute.
11 August — openvertaling.nl: word numbers and a multilingual reader
- For every word the number in the original text can now be looked up, so you can see which Hebrew or Greek word is used.
- A multilingual reader to place translations side by side.
- Joshua and Judges have been fully reviewed.
- The reading-preferences screen has been redesigned, and the psalm titles and the prayer catalogue have been expanded.

July 2026
26 July — openvertaling.nl: the minor prophets and the manuscripts
- Joel, Obadiah, Amos, Jonah, Micah, Nahum, Habakkuk and Zephaniah have each been fully reviewed and declared final.
- Each of the 88 books now has a page about the manuscripts: which ones exist, where they were found and by whom.
- The dictionary shows its references in full, with a button to switch them off.
